Looking Forward to February 25th

The bipartisan meeting scheduled for February 25th needs to be an open and true exchange of ideas, a critical first step toward a new joint commitment to badly needed health care reform. My suspicion is that the temptation to use the forum for politicking will be overwhelming, and we’ll see more point scoring than “healthy” debate…if indeed the meeting even takes place.

The Democrats are expected to focus on existing legislation; Republicans say if this is the case, they may not attend at all. Posturing on both the Left and the Right begins; the main event, if it happens, should be fascinating.
